Ride a snowmobile high on the glacier snowfields of Alaska’s Kenai Mountains on this unmatched excursion. Helicopters provide access to Godwin Glacier flying above Resurrection Bay past the blue ice face to our glacier snow field summer basecamp. Operating snowmachines on a glacier in the summer requires basic motorsport skills to follow your guide on a looping journey with lots of stops for photos in the alpine glacier snowfields.

Adventure begins at the Seward Airport, check in for a snow safety briefing, gear selection and helicopter orientation. Once outfitted get your cameras and sunglasses ready for the ten minute helicopter ride to the white glacier world. Basecamp is nestled on the snowfield surrounded by mountains and an ideal setting for summer snowmobiling. Friendly guides walk you through every step of the ride.

Snowmachines, as Alaskans call them, are similar to other motorsports with throttle and brake handlebar controls, riding them is Alaska’s favorite winter activity. Balance in sloping terrain, eye-hand coordination and a strong sense of adventure help you navigate the snowy terrain. Traversing the Godwin Glacier accesses overlooks which on clear days include ocean views of the Kenai Fjords’ Day Harbor. Loop back to our basecamp to celebrate your ride and prepare for your helicopter tour back to Seward.

Unrivaled in Alaska and perhaps the world summer helicopter access snowmobiling often is a trip of a lifetime.

Meets at the Seward Airport –  10:00 AM, 12:30 PM and 3:00 PM departures, allow 3 to 4 hours for flexibility, call for custom timing or for larger groups.
