Dress in layers just like everyone in Alaska says. This means being able to add layers over the last layer starting with long underwear or tights, fleece pants, sweaters, puffy layers and ending with water resistant outerwear. Wear multiple layers of socks with warm wool outer socks, bring hats and gloves. Mittens are sometimes tricky to work the machines with.
Often our clients have good winter ski/riding gear that fits them, please bring what you have however provide sizing while booking too. ASTAR will supplement you with extra riding gear, almost everyone wears our boots while many our bibs and jackets sometimes over everything for colder trips. The gear system allows mixing and matching. ASTAR provides helmets, goggles and balaclavas (face mask), if you have googles or face mask please bring them.
Glasses wearers, they can be extremely difficult to keep frost free. Consider wearing contacts, bringing a cloth or goggles that work with your glasses.
Your comfort and safety is our concern, please plan ahead for your Alaskan adventure.
